About

The Chicago Latino Arts & Culture Summit is a First Voice initiative which will be driven by Latinos who comprise the various Latino arts and culture organizations in Chicago. We define Latinos as people who have their cultural roots in Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and South America.

The Chicago Latino Arts & Culture Summit seeks to visibly enhance Latino arts in Chicago and to raise awareness of the diversity among Latino arts and culture organizations. Our goal is to transform this visibility into tangible resources aimed at supporting Latino arts and culture organizations.

The Chicago Latino Arts & Culture Summit will be a vehicle to advocate for strengthening and expanding foundation, corporation and individual funding support to Latino arts and culture organizations. Our Summit will also be purposeful in facilitating and connecting arts and culture organizations with media, technical support organizations and potential corporate board members.

The Chicago Latino Arts & Culture Summit will become a self-driven and managed network of Latino organizations that will organize and manage the annual summit. It will receive key funding support for leading foundation and corporate institutions that are committed to deliver equitable financial support to an array of Latino arts and culture Organizations.

The annual Summit will also conclude each year with an advocacy agenda targeted at improving the funding capacity and addressing the racism and inequities that Chicagoʼs Latino arts and culture community constantly face in our society.
